The purpose of preparation is for presence, that you would be able to be present and experience the joy, the celebration of the event. Historically, the season of preparation before Easter begins about 40 days before our celebration that we would be reminded of our frame and our need for a savior. We stop pretending that we’re not broken. We start recognizing our needs and our weaknesses and we posture ourselves before God in this season so that we would be relieved at the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That we remember as Jesus says in John chapter 14, “Because I live, you also will live.”

God is doing a work in us as we approach Easter that allows us to be fully present in the celebration of Jesus Christ risen from the dead. There are many activities we will have over the next several weeks culminating in our Easter weekend. All of those activities can be found at calvarybible.com on your campus. Perhaps you’re thinking of a friend that you might bring alongside you. invite to the Easter season here at Calvary that they too might experience life in Christ.
