SERVE ON A TEAM

Discover how you can serve on a team at Calvary

Each week, Sunday teams help us to build Christ-centered communities of people. There are many ways to serve; from greeting, to running tech, to everything in between.

Serving Opportunities

Errand Runners
Errand Runners is a volunteer-led service organizing free errands for our neighbors who are struggling to shop for their own groceries and needing help during this time. Call 720-551-8676 or visit www.errandrunnersboulder.org to request a delivery or sign up to volunteer with us.

Letters to Assisted Living Residents
Residents in assisted living and hospice centers are suffering severe isolation and loneliness due to visitor restrictions. The residents would greatly appreciate a personal note or card saying that you are thinking about them and praying for them. Not only would this be a meaningful serving opportunity for individuals, but it could also be a wonderful family activity; parents can write the letters, children can draw pictures, and together they can pray for the recipient. You can mail your letters to a facility near you, or you can email them to me, and I will deliver them to a facility in Boulder. Since we will not have access to names, just title the letter Dear Friend, or something similar.

Call & Connect Team
The Care Team is looking for volunteers who can make once a week phone calls or emails to our more isolated brothers and sisters at Calvary in order to connect with and encourage them. If you are interested in supporting this simple, yet loving ministry, please contact Stephanie Gerthe in Boulder (sgerthe@calvarybible.com) or Matthew Michaud in Erie (mmichaud@calvarybible.com).

Sew Medical Masks
Operation We Can Sew It! is mobilizing amateur sewers across the nation to sew medical masks for health care workers. See this link for more info.

Food – Donations and Sorting
Local food banks are struggling to balance increased demand and volunteer shortages with ensuring safety for clients and volunteers. Most food pantries have suspended grocery-style shopping and moved to an outdoor format where pre-bagged, shelf stable food items are picked up by clients drive-thru style. Boulder Homeless Shelter and the BridgeHouse have discontinued meal service in lieu of individually bagged breakfasts and dinners. Food donations and volunteers for sorting and bagging are needed at all locations listed below. Hours, wish-lists, and volunteer needs are available on each website.

Help Now CO – covrn.com
This is the state of Colorado’s COVID-19 volunteer response network website. The site serves to connect organizations, volunteers and donors in one centralized location; allowing organizations to communicate their volunteer needs, volunteers the ability to search and sign-up for events, and donors to identify areas of need, such as food, medical supplies, finances, or childcare for First Responders.
