CULTIVATE PARENTS AS PRIME

Embrace being the primary influencer and faith trainer in your family.

Here’s how to get started:

Here’s how to get started:

At Calvary:

Sign up for our High School Ministry emails- this is one of the primary ways we communicate with families about what is happening in the ministry, send our parent guides for what we are teaching through and other resources.

Parents and Pie- We believe in partnering with parents and that includes creating touch points with other parents and setting you up for success with your highschoolers. Parents and Pie are occasional gatherings with other high school parents to help parents connect, be informed, and feel equipped on different issues or what we are teaching through at WNT. Topics could include sexuality, dating, technology, etc. (1-2 times a year)

Occasional Events- At other points in the year we invite parents to events to hear about how God moved in students’ lives on a trip.

At Home:

Take Home Materials– We love to resource our parents via parent guides, online resources, and books.

Sign up for Axis! At Calvary we know that parents are the primary influencers of their students. We want to partner with you as you disciple your students and we think that an Axis membership is just one simple way we can come alongside you in that journey! Axis Membership delivers trustworthy, gospel-centered resources on the topics that make parenting such a challenge in this smartphone, social media world. CAPTURE MOMENTS

Leverage every day and special moments as a family for Christ-centered conversations and celebrations.

Here’s how to get started:

At Calvary:

Parent-Student Events- Occasionally we put on events for parents to hear how God has been working in the lives of students or specific events to set up meaningful conversations between parents and students. This particularly happens at the end of every high school backpacking trip.

Senior Sunday- Each May we invite all graduating seniors in high school to come up front during service and the church prays for them as they enter into their new season of life. The bulletin for that Sunday includes a small booklet of all our graduating seniors, where they are graduating from, and their plans for the next year.

At Home:

Parent Guides- For most of our trips and series we send out parent guides to equip and inform parents on what we are teaching in hopes to set you up for successful conversations with your students at home.

Not created yet, but would love to create some kind of family conversation/celebration guide for students receiving their driver’s license and graduating high school.

CONNECT IN COMMNITY

Build and prioritize Christ-centered friendships for yourself and family.

Here’s how to get started:

At Calvary:

Sunday Worship at Calvary- Studies show that one large factor for students having life-long faith is meaningful worship with adults and not just their peers. This is why we have highschoolers worshipping with everyone else on Sunday mornings.

Parents and Pie- One of the best parts of these events is creating touch points with other parents and find comradery in parenting high schoolers in community. These are great opportunities to connect with other parents who are asking and experiencing similar questions, struggles, and joys!

Men’s and Women’s Events- Calvary hosts different men and women’s events that parents can bring their sons or daughters to such as the Women’s Christmas Brunch or Men’s Breakfasts. This is a great way to help integrate high schoolers into the larger church community, help parents connect in relationship, and create meaningful touch points between parents and students.

At Home:

Life Groups – One of the best ways to find community and grow in your faith is to join a Life Group (A place to share life and get to know Jesus, in community.) Most groups meet twice a month…and meet in homes. There is childcare available if families meet on the designated “on campus” night. (You can join a group any time, contact jewing@calvarybible.com.)
