CULTIVATE PARENTS AS PRIME

Embrace being the primary influencer and faith trainer in your family.

Here’s how to get started:

At Calvary:

Parents & Pie: A gathering for families to connect and learn how to navigate important issues like technology, sexuality/dating, drugs, etc. Our goal is to create a fun space for parents while also resourcing you to step into important conversations with your students!

Parent Equipping Opportunities:

  • Pure Hope Class: A few week group study to help families become prepared to discuss and navigate sexuality, technology and how to leave a legacy of hope.
  • Holy Sexuality: In a world full of loud messages about gender, sex and sexuality it can be difficult to know how to navigate these discussions. This group class is designed by Christopher Yuan at The Holy Sexuality Project. The goal is help families know what God says about sexuality through His Word and how to live faithfully in a complex world.

CAPTURE MOMENTS

Leverage every day and special moments as a family for Christ-centered conversations and celebrations.

Here’s how to get started:

At Calvary:

MTN: MTN is a day-long adventure trip designed to spark meaningful conversations about faith, family, friends and life during the middle school years.

Kidnap Breakfast – We welcome students into the Middle School Ministry with a fun surprise event. With parent permission, we come by their home (at a way too early time) to “kidnap” their incoming 6th grade student. Then all of the families gather for a welcome breakfast. Shhhhhh…It’s a Surprise

CONNECT IN COMMNITY

Build and prioritize Christ-centered friendships for yourself and family.

Here’s how to get started:

At Calvary:

Sunday Worship at Calvary- Studies show that one large factor for students having life-long faith is meaningful worship with adults and not just their peers. This is why we have highschoolers worshipping with everyone else on Sunday mornings.

Parents and Pie- One of the best parts of these events is creating touch points with other parents and find comradery in parenting high schoolers in community. These are great opportunities to connect with other parents who are asking and experiencing similar questions, struggles, and joys!

Men’s and Women’s Events- Calvary hosts different men and women’s events that parents can bring their sons or daughters to such as the Women’s Christmas Brunch or Men’s Breakfasts. This is a great way to help integrate high schoolers into the larger church community, help parents connect in relationship, and create meaningful touch points between parents and students.

At Home:

Life Groups – One of the best ways to find community and grow in your faith is to join a Life Group (A place to share life and get to know Jesus, in community.) Most groups meet twice a month…and meet in homes. There is childcare available if families meet on the designated “on campus” night. (You can join a group any time, contact jewing@calvarybible.com.)
