“The Wonders of His Love” Devotionals

Practicing Advent can help bring back Wonder. Advent is how the church has always tried to have a Christ-soaked Christmas. To prepare our hearts again for the story of Jesus coming to save us, humbling himself as a helpless baby, and taking on our responsibility for sin and death. Advent is the invitation to declutter the season, reflect on Jesus’ incredible story, and make this year one of the best Christmas ever. To help do that we’ve provided two Advent devotionals for you, a Family ADVENTure Experience and a daily reading guide. Download them below!

HEART OF ADVENT

“Making Disciples. Empowering Leaders. Multiplying Churches.” You see this on the wall whenever you set foot in the Worship Center in Boulder, Erie, or Thornton. It’s the vision behind ministry at Calvary. For the Heart of Advent this year we’re looking to that vision as we focus on efforts to multiply churches locally and globally.

This year for the Heart of Advent we are going to intentionally focus on this value. We started the Heart of Advent twelve years ago to encourage the people of Calvary to “Spend Less, Give More, and Worship Fully”. It is easy to be caught up in the commercialism of the Christmas season; giving to others helps us remember the great gift God has given in Jesus, who was born so that he could one day save us from our sins. The Heart of Advent has been an opportunity to invest in local and global ministry that does just that.
