A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR TOM

On Sunday, January 17, we will begin holding in-person services on each of our three campuses. It will be a phased regathering in which we will initially hold worship services but not all of our other programs. Details about service times and other logistics are available on this page and will be communicated in our weekly updates.

For ten months we have done our best to balance three biblical commitments: respect and submission for our local governing authorities, the call to “not forsake the assembling of ourselves together” as a local church, and a commitment to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are moving forward with in-person services with these three commitments in mind.

We understand that for some members of Calvary, meeting in-person is not advisable at this time. We will continue to provide our online worship services and HomeGroups and encourage you to tune in with us each week. Whether you are with us in-person or worshipping with us online, we love you and deeply value your crucial role in our fellowship.

For those who choose to return to in-person services, we ask that you do so with a spirit of grace and patience! The regathering will be a new thing, rooted in simply worshipping together again and studying God’s Word as a family. We will observe the guidelines of social distancing to the best of our ability. Masks will be required for now. We have installed new air-filtration systems on each of our campuses called the Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization System, a state-of-the-art air purification system to assist in reducing concentrations of viruses, particles, allergens, mold, odor, and bacteria in the air distribution system. To the best of our ability, we want our worship services to be simple and safe.

We have been praying for you. Pray for us as we launch into a new year and a new season at Calvary.

Warmly yours in Christ,

Tom Shirk
Senior Pastor

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

These are the following guidelines approved by our local health officials and law enforcement.

When should I stay home?

Please stay home if you show any symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fatigue, body aches, headache, sore throat, congestion, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. If you are considered especially vulnerable to complications due to COVID-19, we encourage you to join online. For a list of those groups most vulnerable, please see this link from the CDC.

Is social distancing required?

Maintain social distancing with a minimum of six feet from all other households.

Do I need to wear a mask?

Face coverings are required for everyone 11 years of age and older. They have been shown to be effective at slowing the spread of COVID-19. Staff and volunteers will be wearing face coverings and will have had their temperature taken.

Do I need to register to attend a service?

We are asking everyone who attends our weekend services to make a reservation so that we do not exceed capacity. Please make a reservation at an open service. If the Worship Center is full, we will have additional space available where you can watch a video feed live from the Worship Center.

What about my kids?

We’ll have kids programming for kids birth through Pre-K. Kids will have a required separate registration and space is limited. We encourage you to bring your elementary kids and worship in the service as a family. Make sure to check out our online experience videos for preschool and elementary here.

What is Calvary doing to provide a contactless service?

None of our staff or volunteers will be shaking hands, bulletin and connect card will be online, and we will not be passing an offering basket. Communion will be prepacked and self-serve. Giving will be online or in the boxes in the Worship Center.

What about my HomeGroup?

Some HomeGroups will continue meeting on the weekends, and others will worship together at our in-person services or have new meeting times. We ask that you talk to your leader and those in your group about your decision or if you are planning to transition in this new season.

How can I watch online?

Calvary Online will still be available on the weekends beginning Saturday at 8am on demand here.

What can I expect?

Various seating arrangements will be available for individuals and families. Each service lasts about an hour and includes God-glorifying worship music and Biblical teaching that is relevant to your everyday life. We may include video elements from our online service. We will not be hosting a cafe with coffee and donuts for now.

How has Calvary improved indoor air quality?

Our HVAC system has been equipped with Global Plasma Solutions’ needlepoint bipolar ionization (NPBI™) technology to purify our indoor air quality by reducing airborne particulates, odors and pathogens. To learn more visit globalplasmasolutions.com.

Will hand sanitizer be available?

Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the building.

What should I do if I need help registering?

Please call the church office at 303.442.3484 or email info@calvarybible.com.
