So what is Basecamp?
Beyond a program, a Bible study or a small group, Basecamp is a tool to help us experience living out a disciple-making way of life. Basecamp will provoke questions and conversations that lead us into a deeper understanding of who God is, why we need Jesus, and how to live out our faith in a way that is honoring to the Lord. Basecamp is the next step in our journey towards Jesus. Our goal for this experience is for us to grow in our connection with God, His people, and our understanding and knowledge of Christ.
Who is Basecamp for?
Our goal is that every member, regular attender, staff, and elder at Calvary will complete Basecamp over the next three years. Basecamp is written for people who've been Christ-followers most of their lives, and for those brand new to the faith. It's designed for college students, singles, couples, parents, and empty-nesters.
Do I have to already be in a LifeGroup to do Basecamp?
No. Basecamp is designed for those already in LifeGroups and for those not in LifeGroups.
Why is Basecamp important?
Calvary's own members and staff have been writing, developing, and producing Basecamp over the past year. Several LifeGroups have already served as our beta and pilot groups as we have developed the curriculum. Our desire is to help us as a community understand why we exist as a church, where we are headed, what we believe the Bible teaches us on how to follow and respond to Christ, and how we are all called to be a part of God’s mission as ambassadors of Christ. Instead of just relying on theological information, Basecamp will help us all take the next step into deeper application and life-change. In a world that is fragmented, isolated and empty, Basecamp allows us to explore a different way of life: community, truth, intimacy and generosity.
