Three Strands

Class Information

Mission Statement

To Build Christ-centered marraiges from engagement to parenthood.

Ministry Organization

The Three Strands Ministry gets its name from Ecclesiastics 4:12, "A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." This name refers to the structure of a marriage (husband+wife+God) and it also refers to the structure of the ministry. Three Strands is an umbrella ministry, which contains three separate parts&

  • Strand 1: Newly Married Couples
  • Strand 2: Young Couples
  • Strand 3: Couples with Young Children

Both the Sunday school and social events will contain small group and large group components. This structure is ideal for a couples ministry because it meets the specific needs of young couples in the church. The small groups provide a logical progression of curriculum allowing young couples can transition from one group to the next as needed and keeping them in Sunday school fellowship. The large group settings also promote unity among the young couples at Calvary, allowing young couples to maintain and build connections no matter their stage of life.

What Happens During a Sunday School Period

The first 15 to 20 minutes of the class is a fellowship time allowing from all three strands to spend some time together. Then the class MC will open with announcements and prayer. CThe class then divides up into the three strands (three individual classes) where they discuss topics that are relevant to their stage in marriage.

When and Where

The course will be held during the 10:30 service for 2006-2007. The Sunday morning class is held on the third floor of the church.
